The Singlecut is the latest addition to the McCarty line of guitars which were inspired by the late Ted McCarty, ex president of Gibson. This guitar is PRS's take on the classic Gibson Les Paul, with its carved maple top adding a nice high-end bite to the warm and sweet sounding mahogany body. With its slightly longer scale length (25' instead of 24.75') and specifically voiced #7 pickups, the Singlecut offers more clarity and note seperation than a Gibson Les Paul, even in high-gain applications. The ergonomic neck heel design allows easy access to the higher frets, and the substantial-feeling wide-fat neck is a dream to play, it just rings out in your hand. The back of the guitar is contoured for better comfort. This is a killer sounding classic rock guitar that also does complex clean jazz tones and modern high-gain tones.
